Our Farm...Just Our 4 Hands

We are Lavender farmers in Northern California. Chad is a Californian he was a triathlon athlete, and owned a chain of action sport retail stores. Aki is from Tokyo, Japan she had a psychotherapy practice in Tokyo and she has certification as an Aromatherapy Advisor and Reiki Master.  We like doing yoga and leading a healthy plant based life style.  We grow organic vegetables and fruits on our land, and Chad attends to our bee hives. We have two dogs, eleven cats, and take care of over a dozen feral cats that have adopted our property. Lavender harvest season, we make the perfect team, we harvests and distillate together with love and peace.

We respect what our lavender plants provide us. We only use our 4 hands when we tend them. Touching the plants, we know what they need. Aki greets and thanks each of the lavender plants as she harvests and prunes them.

We know the plants reflect our feelings.  We believe that positive universal energy transfers from us to the plant and then to our patrons.  For this reason, we harvest our lavender and make our lavender products when our energy is healthy and positive.

We created our petite lavender farm with just our 4 hands. With each step forward we strive to reduce our carbon footprint.  We love being here it's our sanctuary of love, light and peace.

Our mission is simple:  with our 4 hands share the earths beauty through our artisan crafted organically grown creations and remind you, nature loves you just the way you are.

Our Farm History

In 2018, Aki said to Chad "I love lavender and I want to plant some lavender." The research on lavender began! We took lavender workshops, read countless articles on lavender, and visited a multitude of lavender farms in Northern California and Oregon to speak to the farmers directly. We gathered a wealth of information and determined our properties soil and weather conditions were perfect for lavender.  What sealed the deal, lavender needs very little water ideal for the climate change and  drought conditions in California.  We went from planting a few plants to lets create a lavender farm!!  Our dream was off and running!

The fall of 2018, we cleared off 6 old willow trees and the water sucking grass, and in winter we covered the entire area with occultation tarps to prep the soil. Eight weeks later, we added a bit of soil and then spread a mountain of almond shells over the entire lavender area.

Spring of 2019, we designed and installed our new low pressure drip irrigation and we planted over 1000 lavender plugs.

The summer of 2019, before catching our flight from Seattle to Tokyo, we visited the most famous spot for lavender here on the west coast Sequim Washington. Again, all of the farmers were extremely friendly and shared invaluable advice and experiences. We left for Japan feeling even more passion for our lavender farm.

In 2020, we joined the United States Lavender Growers Association(USLGA). We firmly believe that there is always something to learn, and we enrolled in Michigan State University's "Growing lavender : A curriculum for growers" course.  In May, we harvested a small batch of lavender for the first time.

In 2021, our 60 liter copper alembic still arrived from Portugal. We had been watching other farmers distill and we had been researching and studying distillation methods and processes since 2019.  The stills arrival marked the start of our farms actual production of essential oil and hydrosol.

We created our lavender farm by ourself, with just our 4 hands. We love lavender and this place. We hope you feel our love when you experience our lavender products.

A big thank you to our family and friends for believing in our dream, and  also thanks to all of the lavender farmers that inspired us along the way! We are so happy to now call ourselves lavender farmers.

We continue to follow our bliss, learn and create an even more beautiful place.
